Apple just released its next-generation operating system for Macs, OS X 10.11 El Capitan, to the public.
If you haven’t been using a developer or public beta version over the last few months, here’s how to upgrade from Yosemite to El Capitan: First, make sure you can. El Capitan supports the follow Macs running OS X Snow Leopard and on:

- MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)

- Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
- Check if your apps are supported. IOS 11 won't support every app that runs on iOS 10, because it's a 64-bit operating system, and some apps haven't been updated and are still 32-bit.
- I am experiencing the same issue as @albbarr. I cannot update to 10.12 because of the limitations of my machine. I need to figure out the latest version of Microsoft Remote Desktop I can download that is compatible with El Capitan 10.11. Some one please HELP!!!!!
