Jun 05, 2014 Apple released the new Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite in the Mac App Store for everyone to download and install for free on October 16th, 2014, but downloading a 5+ GB file for each of your computers will take some serious time. The best thing to do is download it once and create a bootable install USB drive from the file for all of your Macs. With this video I want to show you how we can create an installation usb with mac os YOSEMITE 10.10Link for download Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10 DMGhttps://suppo.

There are many ways that you can create a bootable Mavericks USB Drive but this seems to me the far easiest way to do so. In this article I will assume that you already have a reasonable grasp of the OSX system and cut out the lengthy text:

1. Download Yosemite from the Apple Store

Locate the file named Install OS X Yosemite, and then right-click the file and select Show Package Contents. Open the Contents folder, then open the Shared Support folder. Here you will find the disk image that contains the files you need to create a bootable installer. Double-click the InstallESD.dmg file. Doing so will mount the InstallESD. Download and run Disk Creator. Select your USB drive under Select the volume to become the installer. Click Choose a macOS installer. Browse your Mac to find the macOS installer in Applications. Click Create Installer and wait for Disk Creator to finish. Installing an old version of macOS from a USB drive. When you’ve created. The disk that you are booted to at the time. Not any internal or external disk that you want to eventually install Yosemite on, that is for later.) Create a bootable USB installer disk using the Install OS X Yosemite.app. In the Applications folder and the createinstallmedia command in the Terminal app. Read the instructions here, How to create.

Yosemite can be downloaded directly from Apple Store here. After download it will try and install automatically on your Mac. Just cancel out of this.

2. Verify the Installation Files are present

Head over to your Applications folder and check that there is a file which says Install Yosemite

2. Prepare a USB Flash Drive (Must be 8Gb or larger)

  • Plug the USB Drive in to your Mac and open “Disk Utility” (found under applications / utilities in finder)
  • Select the USB Drive
  • Select the Erase tab
  • Ensure that the format is Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
